Kids are Doing an Election! 🧑‍⚖

You probably have voted in an election, but have you ever voted for a kids
election? Last week my whole class did this thing called an election. We went
on Votecompass, have you used it before? Anyway, we answered all the policy questions
and then found out what party that we most liked. I got National along with
Scarlett, Zephyr, Austin, Madden and Zoe Ag. Austin became our leader. Poor
old Koghan was the only one in Act. All of my other classmates are in
Labour, Top and NZ First. We all made our own policys. One of our ones: Three
strikes and then you go to Mrs king office. Mr A then said that the leaders can
talk to the other group's leaders for them to join to get 13 seats. Our leader
didn't do that so we lost and Top, Labour, NZ First got in and they voted that
their leader would be Bede from Top.

I thought that it was a good experience and that Austin should of done more.
Have you done an election when you where in school or is this the first one
you've heard about?

Bring On The Baked Beans Show!

For the past weeks the senior kids in my school have been doing a play called Bring on the Baked Beans. I have a main part in it being the Queen in it. Bring on the Baked Beans is about a boy called John who lived on a field with his mother nothing much grew here the wind was too strong and the sun was too hot, but life was not all doom and gloom. Magic children lived here and when John was feeling down the children would come out and play magic music to him. His mother and him where poor and John then told his mother that he was going to go out into the world to find work.

He came to a beautiful castle that belonged to a Queen, King and Princess. He worked for them and while they were out on a picnic the magic children came and played their magic music John danced and danced and fell into the castle the Queen screamed, (Which is me) and the royal family all cried, John then cried out “I’ll build it back together again!” They would all watch in silence. When John had finished building the castle it didn’t look the same but the Queen, King and Princess thought it looked beautiful anyway. John then went home with a bag of gold and he and his mother lived happily ever after eating baked beans!

I know the story is so long and there is a lot of parts to do and that’s not even all of it. Come next week to St Mary’s Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday to see it.
